Polyester with spandex is another available activewear material system. The selection should be based on the required product function, handfeel, stretch, recovery, opacity, finish, printing or color direction and garment construction instead of treating the fiber name as a complete performance specification.

Material review considerations

Different polyester-spandex fabrics may be developed for different product directions and should not be presented as interchangeable. A suitable fabric reference needs to be assessed against the intended garment, including fit, seams, coverage, surface finish and branding compatibility. Final material approval should reference the actual selected fabric and sample rather than a generic fiber statement.

Seamless material behavior comes from yarn selection together with knitted structure and engineered zones. Rib, mesh, texture and localized density can be incorporated where technically appropriate, making the complete knit program more important than describing the garment through fiber composition alone.

Material review considerations

A Seamless product should be evaluated as an integrated yarn-and-structure system. Cylinder feasibility, yarn, knitted density, size, zones and finishing all affect the finished garment. Any material specification published for a Seamless SKU should therefore correspond to its actual yarn and program rather than borrowing parameters from an unrelated cut-and-sew fabric.

Surface Finish / Soft Direction / Sample Approval

Brushed or peach-finish materials can be considered when the product requires a softer surface direction. The final feel depends on the base material and finishing process, so the approved physical swatch or garment sample should remain the project reference rather than a subjective marketing description.

Material review considerations

Finishing can change handfeel, appearance and the way a fabric behaves in the finished garment. For this reason, a brushed material should be reviewed together with stretch, recovery, opacity, dimensional behavior and construction suitability. A named finish does not automatically confirm performance, and bulk material should follow the approved material and color reference.

Handfeel Direction / Yoga / Sample Based

Soft or “naked-feel” direction can be discussed for relevant yoga and activewear products, but the term is subjective. MOVEVOX should translate the desired feel into an approved fabric reference, garment sample and measurable requirements where the buyer has defined them.

Material review considerations

A sourcing team should not select a fabric only because it is described as soft. Stretch, recovery, opacity, weight, surface friction, fit and garment construction can all affect how the finished product feels and performs. The approved fabric or physical sample therefore provides a stronger standard than a generic handfeel label.

Rib geometry can affect surface appearance, stretch behavior, edge stability and the way a garment fits the body. Seamless and Cut & Sew rib solutions therefore need different technical reviews. Material review considerations

Different textures may influence appearance, handfeel, stretch and localized garment behavior. In Seamless products, texture may be engineered into the knitting program; in Cut & Sew products, it may come from the selected fabric. Mesh / Ventilation Zone / Placement

Mesh or open structures can be evaluated for selected ventilation areas in tops, bras, shorts or Seamless products. Placement should consider coverage, stretch, seam handling, snag risk and the support requirement of the body area rather than assuming visible holes automatically prove breathability.

Material review considerations

Light mesh is not automatically appropriate for high-compression or high-coverage zones. Hole size, material strength, stretch, edge construction and shrinkage compatibility with the main material should be reviewed. If a buyer requires quantified breathability or air-permeability claims, the applicable material and test method must be identified rather than inferred visually.
