Fitness Clothing Manufacturing for Structured Brand Programs
More Than a Single-SKU Order
Fitness clothing sourcing can involve leggings, sports bras, shorts, tanks, T-shirts, long sleeves, coordinated sets and Seamless activewear. Each product may require a different combination of fit, material, construction, branding and manufacturing route.
MOVEVOX supports buyers that need to manage these requirements as part of an ongoing product program rather than as disconnected individual orders.
Different Starting Points Can Enter the Same Development System
A project may begin from a detailed Tech Pack, a legal reference sample, a sketch, an image or a sufficiently defined product concept.
Depending on the buyer's technical input and commercial model, the project may follow an OEM, ODM-support, private-label or broader custom-manufacturing route.
Manufacturing Support for Established Activewear Sourcing Programs
Established brands often evaluate a manufacturer against more than product appearance. Supplier qualification can also depend on development discipline, factory capability, product consistency, manufacturing transparency and the ability to support repeat production.
New Supplier Qualification
Evaluate product fit, factory capability, technical development, commercial conditions and quality evidence before moving a supplier into an approved sourcing program.
Second-Source Development
Add another manufacturing option for selected categories while keeping technical standards, materials, branding and QC expectations aligned.
Category Expansion
Develop additional leggings, bras, shorts, tops or sets without assuming every product should use the same fabric, fit or manufacturing process.
Repeat and Seasonal Production
Use the current approved product and branding standards as the basis for repeat orders while reconfirming any changes that affect production.
Six Capabilities Behind a Fitness Clothing Manufacturing Program
Product Development
An approximately eight-person development team includes design, pattern-making and sampling roles that support product translation before bulk production.
Seamless Manufacturing
MOVEVOX operates 28 Italian Santoni seamless knitting machines at its Yiwu core manufacturing base for applicable Seamless products.
Cut & Sew Manufacturing
Approximately 24 core sewing and garment-production machines support pattern-based activewear styles requiring conventional garment construction.
Material and Customization
Fabric, yarn, color, logo, labels and packaging can be reviewed as part of the product specification rather than treated as isolated aftermarket additions.
Quality Management
Five QC personnel support quality activities across pre-production, production, finished-garment and packing stages.
Controlled Scale-Up
MOVEVOX combines its core manufacturing base with controlled satellite or specialized production resources where appropriate, while technical requirements, PMC, QC and final accountability remain coordinated through MOVEVOX.

Manage Seamless and Cut & Sew Requirements Through One Supplier Interface
When One Manufacturing Route Is Not Enough
A fitness clothing collection can include close-fitting Seamless products together with Cut & Sew garments requiring defined panels, pockets, zippers, multiple materials or conventional pattern construction.
If separate suppliers manage these requirements independently, the buyer may also need to coordinate materials, branding, packaging, QC and technical revisions across several interfaces.
Seamless + Cut & Sew Under One Project Structure
MOVEVOX combines Seamless and Cut & Sew capabilities within one project-management system. The most suitable route is reviewed according to the actual product rather than selected by marketing category alone.
Where controlled satellite or specialized production resources are used, MOVEVOX coordinates technical information, materials, production planning, QC and final accountability.
External production resources should not be represented as MOVEVOX-owned factories.

Control the Risks Behind Fitness Clothing Manufacturing
Where a Manufacturing Program Can Lose Control
-
Wrong Supplier or Manufacturing Route
A garment may be assigned to an unsuitable process if structure is not reviewed before development.
-
Sample-to-Bulk Drift
A good sample does not automatically create consistent bulk production.
-
Fit Inconsistency
Measurements, pattern revisions or size logic can lose control when changes are handled informally.
-
Material or Color Variation
Material lots, dye lots or unapproved substitutions can change garment behavior or appearance.
-
Branding and SKU Errors
Incorrect artwork, labels, barcodes or packaging versions can make finished goods commercially unusable.
-
Uncontrolled Scale-Up
Volume growth can increase quality and communication risk when production allocation is not coordinated.
Turn Each Risk Into a Defined Manufacturing Control
-
Review Manufacturing Route Before Sampling
Evaluate Seamless, Cut & Sew or mixed requirements according to the actual product.
-
Release the Approved Standard
Keep product, measurement, material and branding information connected before bulk starts.
-
Use Measurable Fit References
Control POM, pattern revisions and approved fit information.
-
Confirm Material and Color Standards
Identify relevant materials and physical color references before production.
-
Control Branding by SKU
Connect artwork, labels, barcodes and packaging to the correct style, color and size.
-
Centralize Technical and QC Responsibility
Keep project information, PMC, QC and release responsibility coordinated during scale-up.
From Product Input to an Approved Bulk-Ready Standard
Project Brief
Receive the available Tech Pack, legal reference sample, sketch, image or sufficiently defined concept together with quantity, target market and customization requirements.
Technical Review
Review garment structure, measurements, manufacturing route, material direction, branding requirements and missing information.
Material Direction
Evaluate fabric, yarn and color options against the intended product construction and development target.
Pattern or Knitting Program
Cut & Sew styles move into pattern development, while Seamless products require knitting-program and structural development.
Development Sample
Produce a physical sample for fit, construction, material, workmanship and customization review. Standard development is typically approximately 5–10 working days after the required details are confirmed.
Revision
Convert buyer feedback into specific measurement, construction, material or branding changes.
Approval Standard
Confirm the relevant product, measurement, material, color, logo, label and packaging information before bulk.
Bulk Handover
Transfer released information into production planning, first-article checks, in-line QC and final inspection.
Convert Fit Requirements Into Measurable Production Standards
Cut & Sew Pattern Development
A Cut & Sew project may begin from the buyer's Tech Pack, measurement chart, legal reference sample or defined fit direction.
MOVEVOX reviews relevant measurements, proportions and construction before developing or revising the pattern. The process can include POM review, sample measurement, fit comments, pattern revision and approval before bulk.
The development team includes two professional pattern-making roles, with core technical personnel having approximately 8–10 years of pattern experience.
Seamless Fit Development
Seamless garments require a different technical route. Circumference, garment length, knit structure, rib or mesh zones, stretch behavior and size logic must be translated into the knitting program and physical sample.
For both routes, the goal is the same: replace informal fit expectations with an approved, reviewable standard.
Select Fitness Clothing Materials by Product Requirement
Nylon / Spandex Directions
Often reviewed for body-fitting activewear where handfeel, stretch, recovery and garment structure are relevant. Final suitability depends on the actual fabric specification and product.
Polyester / Spandex Directions
Can be considered for selected training and fitness clothing according to handfeel, structure, printing or other project requirements.
Seamless Yarn Systems
Yarn selection and knit structure need to be reviewed together because rib, mesh, jacquard and body-mapped zones can influence the finished garment.
Ribbed and Textured Structures
Surface structures can change visual appearance, stretch, opacity, recovery and handfeel. Physical material or sample approval is more reliable than judging from images alone.
Relevant material factors can include composition, weight, handfeel, stretch, recovery, opacity, color route, surface structure and compatibility with garment construction or logo application.
Different Activities Create Different Fit Priorities
An activity name is not a performance guarantee. Intended use should be translated into product requirements and reviewed through the agreed sample and validation process.
Yoga
Fit review can focus on mobility, waistband behavior, garment coverage and stretch during extended movement.
Gym / Training
The garment may need to maintain fit, coverage and stability through bending, repeated stretch and loaded movement.
Running
Relevant questions can include garment security, friction points, leg or sleeve movement and stability during repetitive motion.
Pilates / Studio
Controlled movement can require balanced mobility, fit consistency and the intended visual silhouette.
Athleisure
The target fit may prioritize comfort, layering, silhouette and everyday wear rather than the same criteria used for high-movement training.
Activity direction should be converted into measurable fit, material and construction requirements before sample approval. The same garment structure should not be assumed suitable for every use scenario.
Different Fitness Clothing Products Require Different Technical Decisions
| Product | Development Questions |
|---|---|
| Leggings | Waistband stability, rise, inseam, opacity under movement, stretch/recovery and seam or knit-zone placement. |
| Sports Bras | Coverage, underband, straps, neckline, cup or pad construction and intended support direction. |
| Biker Shorts | Waist stability, inseam, leg opening, movement and stretch behavior. |
| Training Shorts | Mobility, pattern construction, pockets or trims where applicable. |
| Tops | Shoulder and arm mobility, neckline, garment length, handfeel and construction. |
| Seamless Products | Rib, mesh, jacquard, stretch distribution, recovery and size logic. |
These are development and verification questions, not automatic performance claims. The relevant requirements should be confirmed during sampling and carried into the approved production standard.
OEM, ODM or Private Label: Choose the Route That Fits Your Project
These cooperation models are not always mutually exclusive. The actual route should be determined by the buyer's starting information, product complexity and level of development support required.
OEM Activewear
Most suitable when the buyer already has relatively clear technical specifications, Tech Packs, measurements, material direction or approved references and needs reliable industrial execution.
MOVEVOX reviews the supplied information, identifies manufacturing or feasibility questions and develops the product toward an approved sample and bulk standard.
Explore OEM Activewear →ODM-Supported Development
Relevant when the buyer has a defined product direction but needs more support translating the concept into a manufacturable garment.
The customer retains brand direction and final approval, while MOVEVOX supports manufacturing translation, material direction, technical development and sampling.
Explore ODM Activewear →Private Label Manufacturing
Relevant when product development also needs coordinated brand execution, including logo, labels, hangtags, SKU or barcode information and packaging.
Explore Private Label Activewear →Connect Every Brand Component to the Correct Fitness Clothing SKU
Garment Standard
Approved product, measurements, material, color and workmanship establish the product baseline.
Logo
Screen print, heat transfer, silicone, embroidery, jacquard or woven branding according to the project.
Garment Labels
Main label, care label, size label, woven label or other agreed identifiers need to match the correct product.
Hangtag
Artwork, attachment method and released version should be confirmed before packing.
SKU / Barcode
Style, color and size information must correspond to the correct garment and order record.
Individual Packaging
Polybag, zipper bag or other approved packaging can be coordinated according to the project.
Outer Packaging
Carton dimensions, quantities and carton marks should follow the approved packing requirement.
Version Control
Artwork, label and packaging revisions should be released against the correct production version rather than changed informally.
Sampling Is a Product-Approval Process
Development Input
Confirm the available Tech Pack, measurements, legal reference, artwork or product concept.
First Sample
Produce a physical garment for fit, structure, material, workmanship and customization review.
Buyer Review
The buyer evaluates the sample against its product and commercial requirements.
Revision
Approved feedback is converted into specific measurement, pattern, knitting-program, material or branding changes.
Fit / Use Review
Where required, fitting, wear or movement review can be completed before final approval.
Production Standard
The approved sample and associated technical information become part of the reference for bulk production.
Standard sample development is typically approximately 5–10 working days after the required development information is confirmed. Complex products, special materials, custom branding and revisions can change the timing.
What Should Be Approved Before Bulk Production Starts?
Measurements
Confirm relevant POM values, tolerance expectations and the current approved size information.
Fit
Review overall proportions, garment length, waist or underband behavior, openings and activity-related fit requirements.
Fabric or Yarn
Confirm the applicable material, handfeel, stretch, structure, color and any project-specific material requirements.
Construction
Review seams, stitch direction, panels, pockets, trims or Seamless knit zones according to the product.
Logo and Branding
Confirm artwork, position, dimensions, method and physical sample where relevant.
Labels
Confirm main label, care label, size label and other required identifiers.
Packaging
Confirm individual bag, hangtag, barcode or SKU labels and carton requirements.
Physical Approval Standard
The approved sample should remain clearly identifiable as the current production reference.
Understand the Real MOQ Behind a Fitness Clothing Order
| Requirement | Typical Reference | What Can Change It |
|---|---|---|
| Seamless | Approx. 100 pcs / style | Yarn, structure, color, size allocation and machine setup |
| Cut & Sew | Approx. 150 pcs / style | Fabric, construction, color, trims and order structure |
| Custom Color | Often evaluated around 400–600 pcs level | Material supplier and dye-lot requirements |
| Logo | Project dependent | Method, artwork, tooling and supplier MOQ |
| Labels | Project dependent | Material, type, artwork and supplier MOQ |
| Packaging | Project dependent | Bag type, printing, size and supplier MOQ |
Garment MOQ is not always the same as the effective project MOQ. Custom materials, color, branding, labels, packaging, testing and SKU structure can create separate thresholds.
Final feasibility should therefore be reviewed against the actual product, quantity, colors, sizes and customization requirements.
